Forum

The Forum panel allows you to use a structured discussion forum. The hierarchy of the forum structure is: forum - forum sections - post topics - posts. Sections can be structured into a hierarchy, creating a section tree.

Alternatively, a link can be used from the navigation panel (navigation point 3) or from a user-embedded forum panel. The panel header links to the Forum page with a list of forum sections. The panel header provides links to the pages of each section of the discussion.

On the Forum page [1], there is an option to start a new forum section [2], or to switch the view to the viewing page of a particular section [3], or to the topic page of the last post of a particular section [4].

Managing the forum section

Managing a section includes a tab for viewing the section, including a list of topics for the selected section, and a tab for editing the selected section.

The section browsing page [1] includes the option to start a new section [2], start a new discussion topic [3], or switch to the topic list table to view a specific topic [4], or to the topic page to view the last post of a specific topic [5].

On the edit section page, you can rename a section, make other settings such as hierarchy placement, or delete a section.

The Browse Forum Section page contains a list of topics in the selected section with the option to start a new topic.

Topic Management

Managing forum topic posts includes a tab for viewing the topic content, including the list of posts for the selected topic, and a tab for editing.

The topic viewing page [1] includes the ability to insert a new post [2], view the last post [3], edit a post [4], or delete a post [5].

Editing the topic

The topic edit page [1] of forum posts allows you to change the topic title [2], move a topic to another section [3], close a topic [4], which means to stop posting further posts, or delete a topic [5].

Inserting a contribution

On the post editing page [1], you enter the post title [2] and the actual post content, for which there is a built-in HTML editor [3]. The editing tools are described in the section on Text editing tools.

The text editor panel can be stretched or shortened with the mouse. This is done by pressing and holding down the left mouse button in the bottom right corner above the triangle symbol [4]. A double-sided vertical arrow icon will appear. Dragging the mouse up or down makes the panel smaller or larger, releasing the mouse button stabilizes the selected panel size.

Clicking on the "Create" button [5] will create a new post, clicking on the "Cancel" button [6] will cancel the edit and the post will not be saved.

Editing a post

On the post editing page [1], the controls are analogous to inserting a post, but the post is not created but saved [2], and the post can also be deleted [3].
